Lá na gClub
Dé Domhnaigh, 9ú Bealtaine 2010
Sunday, 9th May 2010
Once again Clann na Gael will be hosting a family day at Johnstown as part of the GAA’s Lá na gClub celebrations. The day begins with Mass at 11am, followed by a parade on the main pitch with all the underage players. The afternoon will feature something for all the family, with some of our younger members providing the entertainment, followed by the “Married versus Singles” match, which is sure to be the sporting highlight of the day.
We are also running two non-sporting competitions this year and judging for both will take place on the day. The Art Competition will be run through all our local schools, while the Special Cake competition will be open for all to enter. All types of cake are welcome – brown bread, traditional soda, sponge cake, Madeira cake and novelty cake/buns.
Our Museum will be open once again with a selection of new items for viewing. Please note we are always very interested in showing any items from our club members so if you have anything (e.g. match booklets, tickets, photos, medals, cups, jerseys, signed footballs, etc.) we would be very interested in displaying these on your behalf.
Thank you to everyone who made last year’s Lá na gClub such a great success and we look forward to seeing everyone again this year.
