Cash For Clobber
Cash for Clobber is a clothing collection and recycling scheme. If you feel your wardrobes are in need of a de-cluttering – Clann na nGael are here to help you and in return you will be helping them to raise vital funds. The Club will receive €4 for ever bag collected. All types of clothing, shoes, bags, bed linen, curtains etc. can be donated. Once the clothing has been collected, it will be brought to a sorting centre where clothes fit to be re-worn will be repackaged and transported to developing countries. Items not fit for use will be recycled for use in industry.
Anyone who is interested in donating their unwanted clothing can contact Sean Murray samurray4@yahoo.com or at 0879573759 or any committee member. All Bags will be collected in Johnstown from Friday 23rd July to Monday 26th July. More details on collection times in next week’s notes.
Community Games
The Drum/Clonown U-12 Community Games girls were defeated by a very strong Corofin team in the Connacht Quarter Final on Friday evening last. Well done to the team for getting that far, which was a brilliant achievement.
Best of Luck to the Intermediate Ladies team who play Four Roads this Saturday at 7pm in Four Roads in their championship match.
Ladies Notes
Hard Luck to the three Clann girls who part of the Roscommon team who lost to Tipperary on Thursday evening last in the All-Ireland Minor B semi-final. Rosa Shine, Martina O’Brien and Michelle Harney-Nolan all played their part in the narrow defeat. Congratulations to Kayleigh Dunning and Orla O’Neill who both started in the U-16 championship against Galway and Mayo recently. They now play Mayo again in the B Final next Saturday despite beating them well last week.
