The Clann na nGael Kathleen Brennan Home Bakery junior A team kept their unbeaten run going with a facile win over St Josephs in Johnstown, on Saturday evening last. Clann took control of the game from the very start and an early spectacular goal from Ronan Gavin put Clann on their way to victory. Clann led by 1-11 to 0-2 at the break.
Clann were in total control in the second half, but Ronan O’Reilly was called into action a 2 occasions to keep the Clann goal intact. Clann ran out easy winners and now sit on top of the table.

Minor League
Clann na nGael 3–6 Castlerea 1–8
The Clann na nGael minor team entertained Castlerea in Johnstown on Sunday last in Johnstown. Castlerea were the first to settle and were 0-4 to 0-1 up early on, with Clanns point coming from Rudhrai McManus. A Willie Shine goal brought Clann level with the visitors, however parity was short lived as Castlerea hit 1-2 to knock Clann back on their feet. Emmet Kenny reduced the arrears with a point before Castlerea rallied with 2 more points, to go in at the break 1-8 to 1-2 up at half time.
Clann were a different prospect in the second half and 1-1 from Emmet Kenny put Clann within 2 points of the leaders with 10 minutes remaining. A Rudhrai McManus point brought Clann with in the bare minimum and their visitors and a second Emmet Kenny goal put Clann 2 points to the good with 4 minutes remaining. Further points from Darragh Petit and James Farrell sealed a well deserved victory for Clann. This team has a never say die attitude and with no shortage of skill, which in a very good mixture for a team.

U16 Division 3
Clann na nGael 0–10 St. Ronan’s 0–0
The Clann na nGael under 16 team won their first game of the year with a victory over St Ronans on Friday evening last. The game was very late starting which was not fair on the Clann na nGael players or the referee.
Team: Dylan Colgan, Conor Lennon, Ritchie McManus, Eoin Hannon, Darragh Lennon, Conor Mc Alary, Shane Dunning, Arran Shine, Cian Mc Manus, Cathal Callinan, Evin Cunniffe, David Kildea, Colin Meehan. Sub: David Griffin.

U14 Féile
Clann na nGael 2–5 St. Ciarán’s 3-11
Clann na nGael under 14’s Féile Peil na nÓg campaign ended in disappointing fashion in Fuerty on Thursday evening last with a defeat to an impressive St. Ciarán’s team. Playing with the wind in the first half Clann registered some good scores, but a five-minute spell before half time swung the game in St. Ciarán’s favour, with the teams going into the break on level terms. Clann failed to find any rhythm in the second half and it was St. Ciarán’s who ended the game the stronger. Clann will now look to make up for this result in both league and championship later in the year.

U16 Ladies
Clann na nGael 4-24 St. Brigid’s 0-4
On Monday evening in Johnstown, Round 4 of the U16 Ladies Championship the Clann na nGael girls recorded a good win over St Brigids. Clann na nGael girls dominated the play from start to finish leading by 2-16 to 0-0 at the half time break. All the subs were introduced in the second half and the Clann girls came out well deserving winners with a final score 4-24 to 0-4. This was a great team performance with every player making a significant contribution on the pitch. The next game is on Friday April 1st at 8pm in Lisanmult, Roscommon against Roscommon Gaels.

U16 Ladies
Clann na nGael v Roscommon Gaels
The U16 ladies traveled to Lisnamult to play Roscommon Gaels in Round 5 of the U16 Ladies Championship on Friday night last. The girls battled the elements in high windy conditions and ran out comfortable winners in the end. They are now through to the quarter finals and fixtures have not been confirmed as yet.

Ladies Gaelic for Beginners/Mums
Gaelic for Mums/Beginners continues Wednesday nights at 8.30pm. Five new members joined last week, so bring a friend and come along, a great nights fitness and fun!

Underage Training
Under 10 and under 8 training has commenced on Sunday morning. Parents and players are reminded that the training time has changed to 10.15am.

Club Lotto
Last weeks numbers were 1, 8, 11, 14 and there was no winner of the jaclpot. There were 5 match 3 winners each receiving €40. Next weeks jackpot will be €2,400 and the draw will be in The Mill.
