Drum Clonown Community Games
Athletics will take place on Sunday 3rd May at 6pm at Clann na nGael pitches, Johnstown. Registration takes place from 5.30pm. Entry €2 per event per child. Events as follows: U8 Boys & Girls – 60 & 80 metres; U10 Boys & Girls – 100 & 200 metres & 60m Hurdles; U12 Boys & Girls – 100 & 600 metres; U14 Boys & Girls – 100 & 800 metres & 80m Hurdles; U16 Boys & Girls – 100 & 1500 metres.

The family and friends of Eoghan McManus (Nure, Cornafulla, Athlone) who organised the Card Game in Clann na nGael Clubhouse last Monday evening in aid of St. Raphael’s Children’s Ward, Beaumont Hospital, would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to all the sponsors, supporters and to everyone who helped make this night such a success. Total amount raised on the night was €1,664.
South Roscommon Cycling Club
We are a recreational organization comprised of cycling enthusiasts with a wide range of abilities and interests. We have training rides leaving Clann na nGael clubhouse at 9 am every Sunday. These rides range from 20- 30km for beginners, to 70km-120km for the elite. Contact Joe 0868443408. Also, Tour de South Roscommon – annual charity cycle for members and non members of the South Roscommon Cycling Club. This years charity is Irish Pilgrimage Trust and the cycle will take place on Saturday 13th June, like us on Facebook for more information.
Diocesan Celebration of Marriages
Will be celebrated on Sunday 28th June at 3pm in Ss Peter’s & Paul’s Church. Bishop Kevin Doran will be the main celebrant at the mass for the Jubilee of Marriages. Any couple wishing to take part in this celebration please contact the parish office by Friday 15th May so that the organising committee can finalise the arrangements for the couples and their families who wish to attend.
