U-14 Boys Feile
Clann na nGael 3-07 St Ciarans 2-10
Clann U-14’s are certainly taking the scenic route in their quest to win Roscommon Feile. This evening they drew with St Ciarans after a great comeback and were unlucky not to snatch victory with the last kick of the game. Darragh Petit took a long range free and as it dropped short it was fisted over the bar by a Clann player but the referee had already blown the final whistle. St Ciarans started strongly and had 4 points on the scoreboard before a Darragh Petit free opened Clann’s account. This was followed quickly by a Ultan Harney point but St Ciarans were still in control and kicked several wides before extending their lead with further points and just before half-time they snatched a goal which left Clann with a mountain to climb for the  2nd half. Half-time score Clann 0-03 St Ciarans 1-06.
Within a minute of the re-start Rudhrai McManus struck a powerful daisy-cutter which nutmegged both a defender and goalkeeper and ended in the back of the net. Soon afterwards a shot from Darragh Petit destined for the roof of the net, was brilliantly tipped away by the St Ciarans goalkeeper but a free from the same player reduced the deficit to 2 points. St Ciarans then struck for a brilliant goal and 2 further points from play gave them a seven point lead. Then with 13 minutes to go Rian McNamara stuck the ball in the bottom corner of the net. Both sides swapped points before pressure from the Clann forwards forced an own goal to take the lead. St Ciarans equalised with a free from a tight angle to give both teams another day.

U-14 Boys Feile Replay
Clann na nGael 4-09 St Ciarans 1-07
Clann U-14’s qualified for the Feile Final by virtue of hard fought battle with St Ciaran’s in Johnstown on Monday evening. Despite the large winning margin, this game hung in the balance until a brilliant penalty save from Kevin Molloy broke St Ciarans hearts and Clann  quickly followed this with their third goal from Owen Forde. Kevin then tipped another ball over the bar which was destined for the top corner before centre back Paul Mannion wrapped it up with Clann’s fourth goal. It looked all so different in the first minute when St Ciarans scored a goal from a fisted effort of the underside of the crossbar. Clann soon took the lead with points from Darragh Petit, James McManus (2) and Rian McNamara. A great goal from Rudhrai McManus gave them a 3 point lead at half-time. St  Ciaran’s narrowed the margin to the bare minimum early in second half before Rian McNamara finished a great goal to the bottom corner after being well set up by Owen Forde. The difference was 6 points when Kevin Molloy stopped the penalty and after that Clann looked in control. There were great displays from all 18 players and the contributions of substitutes Ollie O’Neill, Owen Forde and Darragh Golden were particularly significant. They now play Padraig Pearses in the final next Sunday in Ballyforan at 6pm.

U-16 Championship Q/Final
Clann na nGael 3-14 St Ciaran’s 1-04
Clann U-16s had a big win over St Ciarans in Feurty on Sunday morning. This was a great team performance from Stephen Shine in goal who made one particularly outstanding save to all 5 subs who all made contributions to the game. The foundation of this win was in the first half  where Clann’s lead was 2-10 to 0-01. The goals coming from Daniel Qualter and Dermot Higgins who scored two. Clann played some good football throughout and used the ball intelligently in setting up their many scores. They now play Boyle in the semi-final on Sunday 27th of April.

Division 4 League
Clann na nGael 1-09   Kilbride 1-06
Clann had a hard fought win over Kilbride last Friday evening in Johnstown. Clann got off to a good start with 2 points from Emmet O’Connor and when half way through the first half Graham Petit hit the back of the net with a powerful shot it looked like Clann were in complete control. However Kilbride got a goal back of their own when a 45 was defected by a Kilbride player past Joe Fallon in the Clann goal. Two long range frees from JP Dunning and a another point from Emmet, curled over from a tight angle, left Clann leading at half -time by 3 points. Points from substitutes Sean Walsh and Fergal Shine lifted the Kilbride siege in the 2nd half and allowed Clann some breathing space at the end. A special mention for Emmet O’Connor who was back playing football after a long lay-off. Playing in a new  position in the full forward line Emmet looked as if never stopped playing and scored three points from play in what was a very accomplished performance.
Team: Joe Fallon, Fintan Kenny, Shane Gavin, Paddy Clogher, Keith Kildea, Paul Curley, Morgan Keena, John Paul Dunning (0-4), Kevin Conneely, Michael Haugh, Graham Petit (1-0), Niall Lennon, Emmet O’Connor (0-3), Paul Whyte, Alan Shine.
