Intermediate Championship

Clann na nGael 2-6 Michael Glaveys 0-12

Clann started their Intermediate Championship campaign with a draw in Ballinlough on Saturday evening. Facing a strong breeze and driving rain the Clann girls struggled in the first half but only trailed by two points at the break thanks to a brace of goals from Niamh O’Brien and a point from Blana Gately. On the resumption Glaveys increased their lead but Clann battled back to score the last four points of the match and were unlucky not to snatch victory as Ciara Fallon’s lobbed effort hit the crossbar and went over the bar. Substitute Maeve Harney claimed 2 late points to secure the draw.

Team: Eileen Goode, Amy Shine, Rosa Shine, Mary Shine, Martina O’Brien, Clodagh Rock, Shauna Irwin, Aine Seery, Kelly Killian, Blana Gately 0-3, Cathy Watson, Ciara Fallon 0-1, Michelle Harney-Nolan, Niamh O’Brien 2-0, Aisling Curley.

Subs used: Maeve Harney 0-2, Tracey Keegan.
