Elphin Diocesan Lourdes Invalid Fund Annual Church Gate Collection
Will be held in Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June and at Drum & Clonown Churches on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Launch of Parish Fund-raising Campaign
On Friday next, 19th June, Bishop Christopher Jones will launch a fund-raising campaign in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel. Ss. Peter & Paul’s Parish, in association with Ráth Cairn Gaeltacht Development, will comprise two Monster Draws, which will take place on 27th November 2009 and 26th February 2010, with prizes totalling €100,000 in each draw. Tickets are €100 each and one ticket gives an entry to both draws. The Parish needs to sell 2,000 tickets at €100 each. Mr. Aidan O’Reilly, Baylough, has been appointed co-ordinator for the draw. The Parish wishes to thank you for your unfailing generosity and hope you will give the support needed with this major fund-raising venture. Refreshments will be served at the launch.

Fr. John McManus’ Silver Jubilee Celebrations
All the people of the parish are invited to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Ordination of Fr. John McManus on Thursday 25th June, beginning with concelebrated Mass in Ss. Peter & Paul’s at 7.30m followed at 9pm by a presentation to mark the occasion in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel. For enquiries/donations please contact any member of the Parish Pastoral Council.

Summer Camps
The following summer camps will be taking place in the locality this year:

  • Athlone Gymnastics Club camps will be held for three weeks from Monday 29th June to Friday 17th July inclusive. For more details phone Brenda at 087-9188993.
  • Speech & Drama camp will be held in Athlone GAA club from 20-24 July for ages 5-12 years. Fun-filled week with drama, mime, music, art & crafts, Trips to Library & Glendeer Pet Farm. Cost: €70 per child. Contact Mary Fox at 087-8941197.

Athlone Choral Society AGM
Will take place on Monday 29th June at 7.30pm upsairs in De Bella Restaurant, High Street, Athllone. New members welcome. If you are intrested in being an accompaniast (piano) for the society for September 2009 please contact Graham at 087-2423491.

Elphin Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes
August 28th to September 2nd 2009 under the leadership of Bishop Jones. Cost €690 for regular pilgrims (book through Joe Walsh Tours, tel: 01-2410810).
